Job Role:

The Chair of a Board for a housing association plays a crucial leadership role in guiding the organisation’s strategic direction and ensuring effective governance.

They preside over board meetings, ensuring discussions remain focused, productive, and aligned with the association’s mission.

The Chair supports the Chief Executive Officer and senior leadership team, providing mentorship and oversight. They also act as a liaison between the board and external stakeholders, representing the association in the community.

Additionally, the Chair helps ensure compliance with regulations, promotes transparency, and fosters a collaborative, forward-thinking environment to meet the community’s housing needs..

Location:  Blaina, Blaenau Gwent

Contract: 3 year term (max 6 years as Chair)

Hours: Varied, typically up to 2 days per month.

Salary: £12,000
