Summary:

We are looking to appoint highly skilled and motivated individuals with a range of professional backgrounds to join our governing body, the Board of Trustees.

We are hoping to attract professional people who live or work in Gwent, who support our aims and who can bring their expertise and leadership skills to our board of trustees.

You will have had a background / career in one of the key areas either current or previous and a commitment to share your knowledge and skills to positively impact the lives of those who engage with Phoenix Domestic Abuse Services.

Phoenix Domestic Abuse Services is an award winning, innovative charity working with professionals, communities and families to create real change to our society.

We are currently able to offer:

  • Support for individuals and families experiencing abuse and unhealthy behaviours.
  • Assessments and Interventions for Perpetrators of Domestic Abuse
  • Professional training around all aspects of domestic abuse
  • Consultancy and support around domestic abuse related issues
  • Individual and family support packages, to reduce current and future risk, including: perpetrator interventions, support for victims and work with children and young people.

About the role:

Board members typically:

  • Ensure that the organisation pursues its stated objects (purposes), as defined in its governing document, by developing and agreeing a long-term strategy.
  • Ensure that the organisation complies with its governing document, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations.
  • Ensure that the organisation applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its charitable objects.
  • You will be expected to contribute roughly 3 to 4 hours per month. Travel and out of office expenses payable.
